Default Stock pushrods ok?

Am I ok going with stock length pushrods on a cam with these specs:228/232 565/572 lsa112?

I already have hardened pushrods, but they are indeed stock length. Please advise. Also, will I be ok running the stock chain and oil pump for a little while or is that just foolish? The car only has like 34K miles on a '99. I know its an upgrade I need to do, but money is low and I need to get the LT's for the cam. The car will not be at the track, and is basically used for a toy on the street. Course of action gentleman?

Thanks

Brandon

i dont see why people try and get away with as little as possible when doing major upgrades. just save up more money until you can afford to add the pump and chain to the mix. spending the extra 200 bucks is alot cheaper then spending thousands when a chain or pump fails, your call. as far as PR your fine there.

Actually Jerami, I am not trying to get away with as little as possible. I was mearly asking a question, to which I didnt know the answer. The simple fact of the matter is that I know I need those 2 things, money is just a bit low right now and I already have all the other stuff. The info about the car just being a weekend toy is correct. I havent driven it more than 2 days in the last 2 weeks time. I appreciate the feedback, but dont need the attitude. I get plenty of that from the fife I work for.

Sincerely

Brandon

xfactor, Vents(Vince) is selling a few of his custom ported ls6 oil pumps for $75 shipped right now. they're right up there on flow rate compared to any of the major shops, he does good work, knows what he's doing. you should shoot him a pm to see if he has any left or not. its a great deal, you're not going to find a pump thats ported that well for that kind of money, unless its used. his pumps i do believe were used as well, but they've been ported since, so they've been redone. like i said, shoot him a pm and see whats up.

Alot of people run stock pushrods. Take it from me DO NOT USE THE STOCK CHAIN. I did with my B1 and it was fine. I swicthed to an F4 and it broke in less than 200 miles.37k overall. I was lucky. Bent valves broken springs etc. But the pistons are ok. I dont have the money to fix it right now but i could have came up with the $150 for a chain. Now i need to get used heads have them checked new 918's pushrods new chain oil pump and head gaskets etc. Its a whole lot more than a Rollmaster.Trust me dont do it..

Hey guys, I was about to start a thread asking the same question. I am running a 253/257 cam w/AFR's, can I use a stock length pushrod for my setup? Thanks for the help. Armen

**** damn thats a huge *** cam. it depends on whether your heads are milled or not and whether your cam has a smaller base circle(right jrp?)

Heads are not milled, not sure if it has a smaller base circle, its a Futral 253/257 cam, 112 +4, with 642/644 lift @ .5. I'm guessing its ground the same as any other LS1 cam? Not sure....
