Hey guys I need a really bada$$ H/C/I setup that will make a lot of power. Reason well my buddy has a 2000 Z28 with pretty close to full bolt ons, and a set of Patriot Performance stage 2 5.3 heads, and a TSP 231/237 Cam, and 4.10 gears. And now all I hear is how bad he can beat me and BLAH BLAH BLAH, so I need a setup that will pretty much put him in his place . I do not drive the car daily so I am not to concerned about how it Idles and what not. He put down 425RWHP and 400RWTQ in 90 degree weather with a 100% humidity, and has only been to the track 1 time sence his setup, he went 11.93 but he trapped at 121 and his 60ft was only a 1.94. So what do you guys think a good setup would be for me? I plan on a 9" install along with a steel DS. Thanks for your help!!

TEA stage 2 5.3's with a G5X2 or G5X3 flycut the pistons and mill the heads to get about 11:1 compression and then a small 75-100 dry shot to top him off!

 

I want to do it N/A, otherwise he will use the usual comment "well you needed a bottle to beat me" .

Your buddy has a stout setup, however I beleive with the above mentioned minus the bottle you should still kick his butt, assuming you can drive good

Did you look at what you get? It's a top end package, not just a h/c package...haha

 

6 G's would be high but halfway decent however it is acturally 7300 if you dont have LS6 cores.
That is way too expensive.
Hell TEA or AS will do their best LS6 (stage 2.5) head for 3200 cores included as are springs and tit retainers, 1300 for 90mm intake and TB, 400 for the cam, 130 or so for pushrods, and there is no need for those 1.8 roller rocker arms.
Total would be 5050, so basicially if you added the 1.8's you would still be about 400 dollars cheepers then their price but wouldn't have to pay another 1300 for LS6 cores.
It is a nice package but too expensive.

My suggestion if you wanna go 1 up on your friends is to order a set of AS, or TEA stage 2 or 2.5 LS6 (2900-3200 including cores) heads or maybe 5.3 heads (1700 dollars including cores). These 2 companies are at the top of the head porting world. (No offense to anyone else especially rapid motor sports)
Or maybe a set of AFR's. Then do a 90mm TB and intake. I would suggest a few different cams. The 231/237 is nice, the G5X2 or G5X3, the Futural F13, the magic stick, or if you want something more outragious go with the T rex.
You should make well over 450 to the wheels if all the other bolton's are inplace even with a 9" and 410 gears.
Then all you need are some slicks and you are well on your way to some low 11 second time slips at 124+ MPH.
Total cost without labor including a set of rear rims and slicks should be around 4400 or so with the 5.3 stage 2.5 heads and 5600 - 6000 using a set of either stage 2 or 2.5 LS6 heads. That is Weld 15x10 wheels and MT 26x10 Drag slicks.
