Default Need a little assistance

OK, I was wondering if it is ok to have the little IAT tricker that slp sells for like 24.99 along with a programmer or if you have a programmer (hypertech or superchips) does that weed out the need to have one of these. The reason I ask is I have gone with a custom cold air intake and plugged the slp iat tricker in so I wouldnt have to drill into my intake tube and seal it up to put the Iat sensor in. I didn't want to take a chance of it not making a good seal and suck in dirty air.

they both suck, the iat junk, a resistor, about 10 cents at radio shack, and a hypershit or supercrap programer, worthless unless for lower fan temps, auto shift pionts or a speedo gear tire change calibration. Tuning in these units suck usually. racrx

Thanks for your opinon on the two items but that doesnt answer my question.
I know that the IAT tricker is a resistor. In my case its not junk because it keeps me from having to use the factory IAT sensor w/my custom cold air intake. The chrome tubing that I used would have to have a hole bored in it then stick in the IAT sensor then JB weld around it. Not only would that look like **** but I could never get the sensor back out and there is a chance of a slight leak. Using the resistor eliminates this.
Thanks for putting me back on top of the page though.
