224/224 with some heads will give you a LOT more than just 231/231 cam. Between 224/224 and 231/231 there might be 10-15 rwhp difference at the most. Get 224/224 and some stage II heads - you'll be happy !

you're gonna have to go a lot bigger on the cam, for you to match 224+heads, cam only. say like Magic Stick, or TReX. Those would match it. Also on the hairy edge of drivability for a DD(depends on who you ask tho). Why not just go 231/231+heads and get the best of both worlds??

I ran a 221/221 and made 423rwhp/398rwtq with some stage II LS6 style heads. You'll have a hell of a lot nicer driving car with a smaller cam and good heads than you will with stock heads and a donkey dick cam.
