Default AFR 76cc Heads Availability?

I have been trying unsuccessfully to find a set of 76cc AFR 205 heads. Are they actually available yet?

From my understanding, both 205/225 cc sizes will be avalible in both 66 and 76. It is just a matter of finding them.

That is my understanding too. I just have not been able to find any with 76cc combustion chambers.

Try HP Engineering in Texas.
Or LAPD in Cali.

Call AFR and ask Tech if 76cc's have shipped and which retailers they were most recently shipped to.

Also, consider buying the 76cc 'Bare' CNC'd version if you find one first. Then order the valvetrain components from AFR direct.

Default AFR "Large Chamber" Castings...

Hey Guys...

OK...So here's the deal. There are NO 76 cc 205 castings currently as we have been focusing all our energy to try and get the 225 castings to market as quickly as possible. Also, our thinking is that a large chamber 205 might not even be a "viable" product. Anyone needing a large chamber would either be a larger displacement shortblock, or a FI application, either of which would be a good candidate for a 225 head. The 225 heads will definately be available in both large and small chambers, and while not in stone, it looks like the two chamber volumes we will offer "out of the box" will be 62 and 72 cc. Anything smaller than 62 cc or in between the two can obviously be achieved by having us or your local machine shop mill the heads.

The first 225's to become available will be the smaller 62 cc versions, the large chamber versions will be 2-4 weeks behind those, and after we are done with the 225 program, we will ultimately make a decision on whether a large chamber 205 is really necessary....Any input is certainly welcome.

Thanks,
Tony M.

Thanks for replying Tony.

It sounds like the 72cc 225s would be perfect for what I am planning.

I am still wondering if anyone in the GENERAL PUBLIC has gotten AFR's yet?

I hear all kinds of stories about people with hook-ups getting em.

They have been available to the general public for almost a month now. The set we're working on will be on a motor tomorrow.

I'm running the 205 66cc's with my S-Trim, but the S-Trim is max'd out from 6000rpm and above, so my data is useless until I upgrade to a T-Trim. So many mods tho it will be hard to pick the AFR2 205's out of the equation altho I am very happy with the heads and the thicker deck for gasket clamp.

My AFR's are in the Mail! I will post my results as soon as possible. I will swap a JPR stage 1 head for the AFR 205s. I am also running a TR 224.
