Joe is working on a new cam design. Take a look at his recent post. If you are going to buy his heads, take a look at that cam.

JPR heads seem to put out good numbers with the TR224

Kind of depends how big you want to go. I love my F1 - 230/226 on stock heads, and it really opens up with some ported heads. Most will say that is to big, but it all depends what you want.

Don't get too hung up on cam lift/dur. #'s. It's all about matching the cam to the heads. Find out where the heads are flowing and not just .600 #'s. Mid lift #'s are just as important IMO. Then you have a real world guage of where to start when looking at different sticks.

Remember....there's also more to making power than high dur./lift. Advance/ramp rates/LSA/ICL/VE's have just as much to do with power, or the making of it

Too many guys going out and buying that newest magic cam that makes 1,000,000,000 rwhp, and then go suicidal when they don't make what Joe Blow made with a smaller set-up

I agree w/Classic Collector. Know what you want the car to do, and research it. While opinions from others are a great guage of what you "could" expect w/a similar combo, understand all these cars are different and have their own personalities. No substitute for the education you'll gain by doing some real research, and learning not only what makes power, but why.

A good example of this is a guy who's combo is by todays standards "small" and told by all the LS1 Gods that his set-up is maxed out, but with some well thought out combinations of parts and tune, is making more rwhp, and trapping higher MPH than some of these big lift/dur. cam, and over priced heads cars are doing.

Didn't mean to go off on a rant, just want to see anyone who is after more power to know the why fors of the parts that are ultimately selected
