Default surging when put in gear

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. If it is can somebody move it for me. I have recently had my cam installed and the dyno tuine from hpe. I drilled the hole out in the throttle body one size bigger before I had it tuned. Since it has been tuned the car will sometimes surge a couple times and then die when I put it into reverse or drive. Should I drill out the hole one size bigger? If i do that will it raise my idle? I like the way the car idles now, but I don't like the fact that it likes to die when I put it into gear. What should I do?

You'll need more custom tuning. With a cam that small, you dont even have to touch the TB hole. Who did your tuning originally?

I run a much bigger cam and have surging problems when my throttle is closed and its in gear, long as the throttle is at least part way open it seems fine though.

HPE. And by the way it was a great tune. I got exactly the power I wanted out of it, if not more. And by the way, I don't care what car it is, a bigger cam is going to want more air because it is adding more fuel. If not, then it wouldn't add any performance gain. Bigger cam=more gas. More gas needs more oxygen or else it runs rich, and that is not good.

I don't want to have to do that. I have been experimenting with that all day, and it seems to work. I don't want to have to do that thoug. I'd rather just be able to throw it into gear and go. I would expect a little hesitation, but not a stall. What should I do??

Whats that mean exactly? A bigger cam doesnt add more fuel itself. Its actually the opposite...it allows more airflow and therefore requires more fuel to be added. I never said you didnt gain the power you wanted...we're talking about idle quality here, so take it easy. Trust me, you dont need to drill the TB for a TR224... I think its funny when newbs come on here and ask questions and then insult those who take the time to answer their questions

Well then my question is "what causes the surging?" and how can I fix it? Everyone that I have talked to has said that I was going to have to drill out th tb. you are the only one that has told me otherwise.

Are you still running a stock converter? A higher stall should fix the problem
