they even make LS1 blocks any more? Are almost all the blocks LS6s now?

I understand many ppl call them all LS1 blocks, but there is a big difference between the LS1 and LS6 blocks

If it is a true LS1, skip it. LS1 blocks dont quite have the cooling and oiling chambers that the LS6 blocks have.

and IIRC the LS6 blocks have more aluminum about where the head bolts holes are located vs the LS1 block.

Get an LS6 or LS2 short block and start from there.

that is my two pennies

lol wait, let me get this straight.. you want 500rwhp NA, run on 91 octane, idle like stock, sock cubes, and pass CA emissions? while you're at it, think you can find a cure for cancer too?

LS7 Create motor might be his best option if he is in CA

Let me get this straight, you actually think he is still checking up on this thread, let alone still trying/wanting to do this?

He definitely won't hit 500 rwhp in CA with any car that's NA and pass emissions as it is. CA emissions are so strict it's unbelievable. As for nitrous you can have it in your car but it is actually illegal to use it...go figure that one out lol. If you are going to have it just make sure a cop doesn't catch you using it. Nitrous would be my 2 cents if you are going to keep the car to idle like stock and pass emissions.
