Ws6???
hey im wondering what mods slp put on the ws6 to hype up the hosepower so much because im looking to buy a 98 or higher v6 camaro and drop an ls1 in it and was wondering if there was a kit i could slap on it to make it a ws6 ls1,my whole objective is to have a sleeper and pay low insurance and im thinkin that the ws6 package would help shoot up my horsepower
kinda tired so if something doesnt make sense in this thread lemme know, but all responses would be helpful

dont bother with the swap. just pick up a 98+ formula or camaro and debadge them. and as already stated check the FAQ's. havent fixed the Index links yet but the body of the thread is still readable.

Dont quote me on those being the only differences, im pretty sure tho
thanks for the info guys, an about the swap, i was just gunna buy a crate LS1 for like 6,600 or something cuz i didnt want a beat up LS1 cuz i would have to buy a whole smashed car for the same price as the crate motor plus the smashed up car's motor would be already used and beat up on,and about the ta, i thought the ws6's had diff intake or heads or something but oh well i'll just get some high performance junk, an the only reason im buyin a v6 is cuz the new ones can be bought for $7,000 (98or higher), and insurance is low, im shooting for low cost because im only 17 an all i have is 7k, i was gunna take out a loan of 7k after i bought the car so i could buy the LS1 and my insurance would be under my moms name so all i would have to pay was like 2 hundred and something plus the loan payments every month when i make like 500-600 every month, the tranny and rear end are freebies cuz my step dad owns a high performance transmission and rear axle repair shop in detroit(hes one of the best, he has built a majority of the hemi car super stock trannies and has done a tranny for jay leno) but yea, hes got everything i need laying around, this is my plan but i thought it would be real sweet if i got a perfect 80's v6 camaro or the 93-97 gen v6 and dropped in an ls1, if u live in detroit metro area an u got any f-bodies for 7k lemme know ;-)

oh and i think the only problem with 97 or earlier camaros and an ls1 swap would be electronics and computer stuff, i got no idea about that, i might have to buy a computer off a smashed car at a junk yard or something...hmm wonder how bad that would set me back

if you're going to spend 7k on the car, and take out a 7k loan for the motor, you can get a NICE trans am for 14k. Just have to shop around. And don't worry about getting a 'beat-up' ls1. find one that was driven by some soccer mom(no dissin soccer moms, i got one in my english class that is fine as hell), that just drove it cuz it looked cool. it will end up costing you much less in the long run. swapping motors into cars and such tends to become a costly business.
btw, these ls1's, when taken care of, are easily good for 100k miles. Don't let a 40k mile block scare you off. Just make sure you check it out.

If you really take care of them they can last a LONG time, i know of a orange ta thats gone thru about 100 BOTTLES of spray and has 150k on it and is still running very strong, doesnt consume extra oil or mess up in any way
