resleeved blocks?
The wet sleeve is the way to go. I would probably call Thunder Racing about that. If you want to go with a dry sleeve set up any top of the line machine shop can handle that, and possibly the wet ones too if you buy the sleeves.
Talk to Stephan at Race Engine Development. He really knows his stuff. I know he will be the route I take when I'm ready to build the engine.
Good luck,
Mike

Yeah Steve at Race Engine Development is one of the co-designers for the actual Darton iron sleeves, so if anyone knows how to install them, it's him. At the time when I bought mine however, he didn't have any core blocks, so I would have to ship mine to him and have him ship it back, meaning I would also have to find a spare block. Instead I went with MTI. Out in the garage in a wooden crate sits my MTI Darton block, and it looks great. If I just had something to put it in I could have told you about how well it would hold up...
Is this a procedure that could be done locally? I remember reading an article awhile ago that talked about how only a few shops in the nation could do it, but that article was old and you all make it seem like there are quite a few places that could handle this. How much money would one be looking at (cost of sleeves + approx. machine work costs) to have this done? I would me more interested in NOT having to ship a 90* V8 block. Thanks!

Yes, Steve is the man! We spoke one Sunday for a good amount of time. Very helpful and knowledgable man. I really wish I would of had a bit more money at the time to build the 427. Oh well, my next one will definately be a 427 (although, I wonder how the Lunati 454 kit would work out in the LS1
)
