Question More cubes essential....

....for big HP on pump gas?

I have heard of various LS1 cars (namely Corvettes) that have been able to achieve anywhere between 650-750rwHP on pump with more displacement. If you were to build the stock block up with internals, new heads and cams, and a blower....would these numbers be achievable or would you have to increase the cubes if you wanted to run it on pump gas. Im not looking to take it to the track every weekend and pumping in race gas and making over 1000HP...just something that could beat most things I would encounter on the road and track. Like they say, "There's always someone faster...."

that should be no problem to achieve on a forged internal engine.8.5 cr,d1 w/fmic and prolly 15lbs of boost.or just run a big bad tnt or nx 250 shot on your forged head and cam mill.1 7/8 headers also.you can put a 4.00 stroker in your stock bore block for 383 cubes.

You could acheive 650RWHP fairly easily with an 8:1 348 and about 16#'s boost on pump gas with the stock PCM. You'll need all good parts though

Kinda new to this whole boring and stroking. Would you need to do any major modifications to increase the stroke? Just different sized rods and crankshaft? Also, what companies make reputable strokers/rotating assemblies(?)?

Does anyone know anywhere on Long Island or in the Tri-State area where they can do this kind of work to the internals? Around how much will this type of work set me back?

I am sure some one is running that blower. 30psi is a lot of boost. It can be done but you would need 8:1 or even 7.5:1 to make it work realy good.

That thing has gotta be one of the biggest superchargers that would fit in an engine bay.

Just build a 427 with a 200 shot and be done with it Most don't need 750rwhp all the time.

A good, properly sized turbo setup (with FMIC) with roughly double your power at 15 psi of boost. The Jap turbo cars run about 16-20 psi with 8.5:1 CR on pump gas, and from what I understand the 2v LS1 heads might have more detonation resistance due to more quench area. Seems like with AFR heads, forged internals and a good sized turbos(s), the sky would be the limit.
