Oil Pump!! Got it!...Might as well since the front end is gonna be torn apart anyway.
Ticking is Normal for an LS1? The only thing I know is that I can hear it when I am at idle, and it doesn't sound bad, but ticles faster as Idle goes up...Ie: Driving and such.

Just drives me nuts that's all.....Would rather make a pass at some ricer w/ a fart cannon and have here that tick....

but soon to remedy that. I return to the states in Oct, gonna take the time to install a 224 cam with 112lsa from thunder racing, they have a package for 799. (Would this be a wise buy?) I have a friend who is goning to help me with the tear down and install....Thanks guys!!

If that's the cam you want then go for it. Do buy it just cuz it's cheap though. And yes, a little ticking is normal especially in the 01-02's.

You know I had a tick that got louder in my motor as it warmed up , on the passenger side . I took the valvecover off and found #6 rocker loose , but the rocker wasnt bad and the pushrod was ever so slightly bent , you couldnt tell unless you put it on a piece of glass and rolled it . I pulled the head and found it , #6 lifter had exploded on the cam side , and left the carnage in my oil pan . took the motor completely out . Luckily I parked it before it spun any bearings . Hope & pray this doesn't happen to you . . .

Heads and Cam will be installed soon. I may still check the rods today just to be safe.

That must've been a hell of a downshift to blow your sparkplug wire off like that.

That's what I thought too. That's also why I didn't think to check the wires. You know what they say. Drive it like you stole it.
