TR224 - 112 or 114 LSA?
Trending Topics
that "spin it higher" is kind of a missunderstood thing.
The 114 has a "wider" power band. It will not make as much "peak" hp but it will make hp over a larger area.
The 112 makes its power in a narrower band. It will make "more" hp but it will fall off quicker.
I'm running a 112 lsa in my M6 (I have 3.73s). The car is VERY strong between 3500 and 5000 but by 5500 I can tell I have passed the max torque and it feels like its time to shift. Its kind of nice because I never have to spin the engine into the 6000s (RPM kills...). It also sounds meaner.

Makes great power 3000 and up but when it hits 4000-4500 it goes like a bat out of hell. Mine pulls strong all the way to 6600. It keeps pulling until there and carries that power easy to my 6800 rev limiter.
I try to shift at 6200-6400 to save the bottom end.
I would go with the 114 since the idle is a bit better. From what I understand Thunder says they see very little difference in the powerbands even though in theory it should differ by around 200 rpm.
Good luck!

plus i have my shift points set at 6450 and on atap I see them shifting around 6400. I have the Comp Cam 224/224 .563 114 cam
I havent seen where the 112's are making a whole lot of difference over a 114 yet <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
But HP dont mean squat. I like track ET's
I cant wait to get heads to go with my cam <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> And 3.73's since everyone says they help so much more <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

However I shift at 6600 ( Harlan light ) and rev limit is 6800. Once I dyno I'll know better but it pulls HARD to 6600 now. Looking very forward to a 12-bolt with either 4:11's or 4:30's.
Also to address the post, my car has lope but it's not noticeable in the car with regards to shaking. Plus the idle is at 900. So I think the 112 is just fine; I also daily drive this one.

If you're not gonna get tuning the daily-driveable idle might be a concern unless you drill your TB plate hole a bit.
Power difference has been explained.
My power curve is as flat as a runway model from peak to 6800 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
That's why I shift at 66XX rpm.
