What is the differnce between stock heads and aftermarket heads? I know some stuff but needed some input.

There is only 1 true aftermarket head right now for the LS-1 and that is the AFR's. They have thicker decks and a little more material in the right places for better porting. On the other hand, you have ported factory heads. Most usaully install larger valves, get a good valve job, port the chambers, and deck them for the desired compression. They also install whatever springs for your particular application. That's about it in a nutshell. It's really a pretty broad question.
