i have a 5.3 in a 1999 silverado. what cam will give me the most power. looking for the highest numbers.

Application will be for the track but i do drive it on the street quite often. the only thing is i have a stock convertor

well then ixnay (sp) the big cam unless you plan for a bigger TC. i'd be willing to bet you'd get your *** kicked by someone who had a small cam a decent sized stall vs your big cam stock stall setup.

driving around today i think my converter is slipping now, now i have an excuse for getting a stall converter. what cam now?

Did you post this in the truck section? A lot of the guys over there can help you out. There's so many camshaft threads in this section, people are just damn near tired of looking at them.

hmm. sounds like you just need to start MODDING YOUR TRUCK.

you can't hope to get high numbers with a big cam unless you have all the supporting mods. with any automatic vehicle, a stall is a crucial component, as it is veritibly one of the most integral parts to laying that power to the ground. your engine works as a system, if you do not upgrade this system as a whole, then it will not function well as a whole.

what mods do you have so far? this will help narrow the playing field, b/c w/o supporting mods, the bigger cams simply won't perform like you want them to.
