Default Custom Cam?

I haven't been able to find quite the cam that I want to run and am considering having a Comp custom cam ground. Is this something that I need to do through Comp or can vendors have this done for me. Is one way better than the other?

Is what you need to do is find a vendor that will flow test your heads and then have the cam custon ground to match the flow of your heads. If you are running unported heads then it is not as important to have a cam custom ground.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Since I am using AFR heads I decided that I would call the expert, Tony Mamo. We talked for a bit and he not only recommended a cam but is taking care of having the cam ground for me.

Taking into consideration emissions and boost we decided to use a 220/224 on a 115+2 ground on XE-R lobes.

Depends on who you go through. You could call thunder, or tsp, futral....and see what they charge. tsp and thunder actually list that on their website i do believe. futral you'll have to call.

thats a pretty good deal, seeing as you can get a box cam for 400.

hmm, spec'd to your engine or a best guess camshaft? sometimes a bad guess if your not careful.

Just to put it in perspective for everyone, we offer any Comp Ground cam to our specs or yours for $379.99. Right now in the sponsors section there is even a thread where for this week we are offering a sale price of $364.99 shipped.
