ticking sound, is it the oil pump o-ring???

ticking sound, is it the oil pump o-ring??? It sounds like it is coming from the bottem of the car, or right behind the front tires. I have not taken my old o-ring out, but can they just go bad? The tick comes and goes. It gets faster when I rev it. My oil pressure is great. Does this sound like an O-ring problem, or a lifter problem? Thanks this ticking is driving me nuts.
