Default Broken Spring and Roller rocker Arm....HELP!

Hey fellas,

As the saying goes....."Fix it 'til it breaks"

Well, sure enough it did....on the way to a buddies place and the vette was running strong.....90 to 100 mph for 20 minutes or so....

I was slowing down to a steady pace of 70 or 80 to get some gas mileage.....

All of the sudden, outta nowhere, the vette starts to sputter and i figured it was a faulty gas gauge??? So I immediately pull off at the next exit and the vette literally dies as i am going down the hill, but i roll right into the gas station.....what luck....

Fill er up and that was not the problem......I had a flat bed haul it to the shop and they let me know it is a broken roller rocker arm??? I'm thinkin' no way it is just the arm....i told them to check the springs and sure enough it was broken.....have not seen the car since it is 30 minutes away from me.....

Does anyone know what would cause the spring to break???? I haven't taken it to the track since the H/C package was complete 2 months ago and I really havent' been beating on it more than normal???? Bad luck? I bought the H/C used w/ the double springs on the set up.....I assume the set up had more mileage than was initially advertised???

thanx for any help

-Marko

What is the best medicine for that, assuming the bearings dropped into the cylinder heads....

I have double springs so I think that definately helped salvage some of my $$$$. I didn't make it far when all hell broke loose.....my car literally died as I pulled into a gas station......

Nah, they'll be in the oil pan... Have the shop who is fixing it pull the drain plug & there should be quite a few on the magnet of the plug.... You might also try fishing around in the pan with a pen-magnet to see if you can get some more out.
