Default Need cam advice.

I'm looking to add a little more power to the SS and am looking for a cam. I am looking for a small cam. A 224/224 cam looses too much low end for what I want. I do plan on doing heads later as well.

My priorities are:

1. Drivability, no idle issues.
2. no loss of low end Tq. I want it to preform below 3k as well as above.
3. with mods in sig would like 370rwhp.(before heads)

I am looking at 3 cams

1. 222/222 112 lsa
2. 218/222 114 lsa
3. 220/222 112lsa

If you plan on getting heads in the future, I would just wait and match the set. It will make more power and work better in the long run.

Drivability is all in the tuning.

I have #2 in my car and dynoed 372 at the wheels. Very driveable, slight lope on
idle. If you don't know cars, you'd never know it has a cam till I get on it. Very
useable power band on the street. Will be at the track Thursday to see how it
performs there. BTW best without cam was 12.9 at 110 with a 2.0 - 60.

Check out the MTI Stealth I 220/220. .581/.581 115 lsa. it's on XE-R lobes well capable of 400>410 rwhp with heads.

Hawkeye2, thanks that is exactly the kind of information I was looking for.

Predator-Z, Thanks, I'll check out that cam too.
