Angry Blown Motor

I was on my way into work today i was doing about 30-35 in 3 then my motor started clanking around???? Pulled out my dip stick and it had small metal shaving on it. There is no oil leaking out of any were and it had pelenty of oil in it what could it be?

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. Listen to it carefully if it is a steady sound it could be a bearing or wrist pin....but if it is a slaping sound it could be a rod. If you have metal shavings I would bet it is a bearing. Hope this helps.

Not blown, most likely a spun bearing. Block should be ok. Time for a rebuild.

Man, the number of blown engines on here is depresssing. Especially since the vast majority aren't even caused by boost and detonation. I wonder how many people that loose their bottom ends are running an ASP underdrive pully (or similar)?.
