A Dremmel Tool is too small for porting, you need a 1\4 grinder that"ll let the chips fly.You also need a 6 inch carbide cutter, flame shaped and some WD40.And a LOT of patience!!Also a small ball shaped carbide.

You will be there for a week with a Dremmel like FASTONE said. The better thing is large electric grinder for people that do it fairly often like me. I need one myself but for the one timer the air 1/4" will do great. Just be sure that your compressor can keep up. I use a 5hp 33 gal. and it barely does keep up with me.

Are you finishing with cross buffs, or high grit rolls?

Cool! It looks as though your work is consistent. If you continue on this track, then I am sure you will be picking up lots of work!!

Yeah I must admit that is some clean work you have going there. The combustion chambers look without flaw. Its still hard to see much into the intake/exhaust chambers, but from the outside looking in it nice. Curious what kinda flow #s those are knocking down. I am going to start the 241's this weekend and get them machined and flowed. Install them and do the ones that are on the car now and see what differences I can make as far as paper flow #s go anyways. Keep up the good work.

Brandon

P.S.

Are you grinding with WD-40 or silicone based lube? I seem to like the silicone better myself.

Yeah, silicone is nice but I prefer the real thing...... . No really I do not use lube at all when sanding and polishing. I also rarely use anything while cutting but when I do I use synthetic tranny fluid, works wonderfuly.

BTW, I have to shrink the pictures and go to 256 color to get the KB factor down to get 'em on here. If anyone wants the the full size pix just let me know what your e-mail address is and I will shoot 'em to ya.

Save as jpg instead of bmp the jpg compression will help keep the size down.

Great p&p job on the heads!

i know i'll pry get zapped for saying this but polishing the intake port is not a effective as people say. if you ever put a polished pipe (with a 65 degree angle) in a wind tunnel with smoke you will see how the air becomes very turbulent as it exits. the small abrasions on a non polished pipe will cause a tumbling effect which increases air velocity. this is just from personal experience though from years of porting big block race heads. your polish job looks great though.

I do not believe in polishing the intake runner either, I leave mine sand paper roll finish.
