Since you guys are on the subject... can anyone tell me if this puller is the correct size (too big, too small, doesn't matter) to remove the crank pulley.
Thanks in advance.

How long is the stud? Unfortunately, 2xLS1 doesn't sell those anymore and I am going to get some threaded rod this weekend and build my own. Thanks

Sorry about the hijacking too. I am getting ready to do a cam or a H/C install soon (haven't decided whether to go part way or full tilt) and need to start building my toolset for the job. Its the worst when you have all the parts but need a tool to do it. Just make sure you have read through everything you can about the install and research the cam and the products you want.
Once you've made your choices or are close to them start figuring out what tools you need to borrow/buy. People sometimes forget about little things like pen magnets to hold the lifters up, and have to run to the store. You gonna need these, a vale spring compressor, access to an air compressor, puley puller, puller installer, degreeing wheel (if u want to be very accurate and precise), etc. You may also have/want to check P to V if you run a bigger cam. Then comes the need to flycut and the that is beyond me. The list goes on but all you have to do is figure out what you want, what you need to do, and what you can do yourself.

I think that puller is too big. The one I used has 5" arms and it was a snug fit. There are ridges on the inside of the pulley where the jaws hook on. You do NOT want to hook onto the outer edge of the pulley, as you risk breaking it.
