Trex Cam Advise Is the TREX cam a little much, how bad is the idle? Could it be a daily driver? Its not going to be just want it to run good.
Here is what I got in an M6:
LT's
ORY y pipe no cats
Loudmouth
No screen on MAF
SLP lid, K&N and smooth bellow
ported TB with TB bypass
stock heads????
I want it to sound mean but also run lol

With a set of gears and tuning, it should be pretty driveable. I'm still running stock 3.42s and have only minimal part-throttle tuning and it can be pretty frustrating at times. To be as big as it is, though, it's surprisingly driveable. But rest assured, no one's going to confuse it's driveability with that of a 224 cam.
You may also want to consider changing your exhaust setup, as it's going to be insanely loud with the cam. And it's not a good loud, just a bunch of noise.

Well, it would sound VERY mean, but unless you are serious about going to the track often, I would recommend something different. I would recommend something smaller although there are people who run the trex daily. Look at the F11 or F13 from futral or some of the tsp cams like the torquer or the 231/237. All of these cams i mentioned will still have some good lope but will be much more driveable and will actually make power under 3k rpms.
I daily drive mine with 3.42's It lopes like crazy and will surge below 1700'ish RPMS, I would suggest getting 4.10 gears at the same time and you should be good to go, also don't cheap out on valvesprings or you will be sorry.

This cam is the sh*t! Im still running stock gears in my a4, and at idle I got it tuned with little surging at idle. The idle of the cam is about 950rpm was the lowest I could go till its starts to buckle. With a manual, you should have less issues at idle. Its all in the tune. And yes its true this cam loves to see 7k, Have hit 7400-7500 with the juice!
