Default Retorquing heads

IF I already have a head on and torqued down, but I havnt started the car yet.... can i take the head off and put it back on then use the same bolts and gasket without a problem?

I have a stripped spartk plug hole and I need to pull it back off...the head has only been on a dya and a half...will it be ok, or will i need to get new bolts / a gasket for that side?

You should be able to reuse the gasket. If it's the stock tty bolts, then you need to put new ones in it. They were done when you torqued them...

With a long enough bolt stretch gauge you could mesure the bolts before you put them in and torqued them down, and after, and then you would see why you can't reuse them.

You should buy ARP head studs if you are into taking your heads off often.

You should be able to reuse the gaskets, but reusing the bolts is a no, no..

Actually I fixed it...just the first thread was messed up enough to not be able to get the plug in...i went and got a tap because I figured I Was going to have to take the head off.. but I was able to thread it in by hand. Put it in and out a few times, which I was definitly used to from bolt hole cleaning , after that I was able to get the plug in just fine.

thanks for the help
