408 Cam Selection

408 Cam Selection

Need some help selecting a cam for my 408. I was thinking something like: 246/250 .60x/.62x 112 lsa, but I am not sure how streetable it will be. I really want something that is not going to be too lopey and does not have to idle at like 1300+ to stay running. What would be a good streetable cam for this setup?

Heads will be 2.055 and 1.6

That cam doesn't sound like it will be very tame, it will lope for sure, it will idle around 1000 rpms though, maybe even lower.

So lower duration or bigger lsa or what? Motor is going to see nitrous too. What is the best type of cam for n20?

You need to figure out what CR you are going with and what type of heads (ls6, ls1, 6.0, etc.) you are going to use. Then picking the cam should be a little easier

Have Futral, MTI or the like custom grind you a cam for your application. They'll give you the outcome you want.

I am thinking something like 10.8 - 11 CR and LS1 heads.
