Question GM MLS head gasket vs. GM Composite head gasket

I have an 01 C5 that came factory with composite head gaskets. I thought I heard an ugly rumor that I can NOT use 2002 or later GM MLS gaskets. Is this true???

Whether the above is true or not can I use Cometic’s MLS heads gaskets???

With an 01 you can definitely use the 02 MLS gaskets... No issues at all.. If you have an older set of heads, like the 806's on 98's, they have a notch at the bottom that will cause a water leak with MLS gaskets...

unless you need a special bore size or thickness to change compression, your money is better spent elsewhere.

I'm running off the shelf 6.0L GM MLS gaskets with good results
