Default hotcam only good for 20hp?

will a hotcam in my car with all the stuff in my sig only give me an extra 20rwhp? I have an A4 so does this cam require tuning, and does this tune with this cam help me on the RWHP? also does this cam require new pushrods?

Untuned I wouldn't be suprised with only a 20 rwhp increase. With tuning you can get a lot more out of it. One of my friends put down almost 380 rwhp on a Superflo dyno saturday with his hotcam and headers/intake/exhaust. It was running a bit rich and with a little more tuning he could easily break 390 rwhp on bolt ons and hotcam.

I gained 32 rwhp with out a tune, I am going to get it tuned in about 3 weeks and add a pulley and the nubers in my sig are before LS6 intake, Ported TB, with the 12 bolt and no tune at all! the car still runs decent and I am doing a totaly new set up but I am just trying to break the 400 hp mark with a hot cam on stock heads, and right now the car runs 12.3's I would like to have it into the 11's with the hot cam also!
and I have stock push rods just dont over rev your engine or miss a shift I heard they bend pretty easy

with a A4 I would get a tune the other stuff is if you want to do it, not needed but suggested to get, I did just the cam and LS6 springs, but I kept the stock revlimiter so every time I have dynoed the max power in the rev limiter because the cam makes power past 6200 I haven't got to take advantage of it yet.

Sorry but I would get a TC and with that you'll need to get a tranny cooler and I would get a shift kit, maybe a 3500 stall I heard that is a good and popular one to go with, other than that I think you'll be good to go

Ideally, a person should tune after each mod to get the max benefit out of it. You only have 26K on yours so Cam and springs is all you need. If I were you I would run Comp 918's instead of Z06 springs, reason is that :
1- They handle more lift, in case you decide to change rockers later.
2- LS1 valves are a little shorter, so the Z06 springs sit at a slightly more compressed state than in a LS6.

But that is me.

226/236 .525/.525 110 LSA
If this is the ASA hot cam you are talking about and they sniff test, NO you'll not pass emmissions.
This cam has a positive degree of overlap at .050 of +11

Check MTI Stealth II it has a minus -10 degree of overlap at .050 and will pass with flying colors. A TR224/ 114lsa will pass if properly tuned.

For your A4 I would get a TC first. You have about the same mods that I do. What part of Houston are you?

It's not gonna pass a sniffer either, unless you know a real good tuner and I mean real good ( the Hot cam ) that is.

hot cam's bark is worse than it's bite. definately get a converter. that should be the first mod for an auto anyway. my T1 cam didn't want to run worth a **** before a tune. most cams on a 112lsa will require a tune on an a4.
