How many miles per the tank do you guys get?

I have a M6, 4.10's. I drive about 50% in the city and 50% on the highway.

About 120-150, I'm sure that will go down with my upgraded fuel system and turbo too.

120 to 150 on a 16.7 gallon tank is about 7.10 to 8.90 mpg. I average 180 which is about 10.70 mpg. If everyone else is getting this type of gas mileage the cam will probably be coming out soon.

Friday night I got 2.7 miles and used 20% of a tank of gas. I drove it on the highway over the weekend so I got 80 miles out of three quarters of a tank.

It is the largest "drop in" cam I know of that can run on stock heads. I wouldn't expect it to get too good of gas mileage. Besides you gotta sacrifice some things for the power to run 10s on a cam only car. I dunno if I could live with that big of a drop in gas efficiency either though.

just for reference...

i have a 232/240 .595 .608 113 lsa and stg 2 heads and i get about 20 mpg on the highway on average. this is with 3.42 gears...

i would be kinda scared if i got ~10 mpg...yikes...

car also has a 3200 stall...

driving in the city i probably get around that 10-12 range...

Keep in mind you dont completely run the tank empty everytime you fill up. I usually end up putting in ~12 gallons.

There is now a larger cam for stock heads, the MS3, 237/242. This might change my mind on what cam i will get with these gas prices and the drive to the deer lease ever other week.

I've done the math of filling it up and using 25% of a tank at time. I've been looking at the numbers for a few months now.

Oh well, guess I'm going shopping for another cam.

I get about 135 miles per tank in the city with my 427. I get over 320 miles per 3/4 tank on the highway in 6th.

From what I've seen, cams of this size in a 346" are getting about the same mileage. I certainly wouldn't run one in a daily d. with the gas prices like they are. These huge cams have a ton of overlap so they are very inefficient at lower RPM's... you're getting a bunch of fuel passing through the cylinder without even being burned.

Anyone have any numbers with a G5X3 cam? I think that is a little more tame then the Trex, especially since it can be in a 114 lsa, thats the cam I might be getting, but im curious with gas mileage as well, hopefully its not too bad and I can deal with it being a daily driver.

I haven't calculated my gas mileage, but it dropped significantly after installing the T-ReX.
