Default TR224 114LSA vs. MTI Stealth II

I have been reading up on these two cams a lot lateley and they seem to make the same power gains with similar mods on the car. I am looking to get a cam in the future and was having a hard time deciding. I have to stay smog legal, so I will have cats and Mac mids.

I think that the MTI cam will have more low end, while still being able to produce high RPM HP.

Also, what are the lobes like on each of these cams(I have a local shop that will grind me a custom cam for $250, but i dont know how to describe the lobes for them to make the cam). Of course I would be getting pushrods, springs, timing chain, oil pump (my car is a 98 Z28 M6)

What are the advantages and disadvantages of each cam?

Thanks a ton!

If I had to pick between those two, I vote for the TR224. It's widely used an a lot of people put down great numbers with it. Also has a lot of low end for the street. Check out this graph comparing 3 cams posted in the dyno section, the TR224 is in green.

I was hoping for 400RWHP, do you think the TR224 eould make a little more HP with still a lot of low end grunt?

1- Emmissions>>>Stealth II
2- TR224 a little more power down low
3- Both cams are i the same peak #'s range

On a side note, it takes more than knowing Dur/Lifts/lsa to duplicate a cam. You also need to know VE's (valve events). without them the "clone cam" will never act or be the same.

I have Stealth II, cam only, FULL bolt ons (minus EWP), 404rwhp/383trq

We had several people report back passing CA emission testing with the TR224 114lsa. Tuning is the key though.
