engine remove

Default engine remove

I am pulling the engine out the bottom on my 98 ls1, i got the kmember lose so i could dorp it a bit to try to get to teh last upper bolt on the bell houseing, its an auto car

but i am wondering after those 6 bolts are out will it me loose from the tranny or i gto to remove the bolts from the flywheel to the torgue converter

also how will i go by pulling the shaft out of the tranny just slide the engine foward would it come out...

I've never messed with an ls1 auto, but I'm pretty sure you'll need to unbolt the flexplate to torque converter bolts.

Pull the trans out first. Remove the drive shaft. Or you can just slide the trans back enough to clear the engine. You don't need to take off the flywheel. Just take the converter bolts out and let it stay with the trans. Then let it drop!

Drop the engine and trans together.Are you using an engine table?

What they said. It would be a lot easier to take the trany and engine out at the same time, trust me! I have taken out my trany by its self on my 98, not worth the extra work. If u decide to leave the trany in anyway, just unbolt the 3 bolts from the converter and the 6 bell blots as said above. The bell bolt at the very top will make you
