Default Cam power band questions.

If a cam has a power band of 3500-6700 rpms, does that mean it will produce its peak power at 6700 rpm? What exactly does power band mean? Do you shift a 100-200 rmps above the highest point in the power band?

jrp: Thanks for the info.

SMOKIN01TA: Its probably because on Thunder Racing's site it has the power band listed under the T-Rex's specs. So yours peaked at 6800 and carried it to 7000 before it dropped?

yep works best if i short shift 1-2 at about 6900 and then go all out on the rest, or thats how it feels anyway, i think its all in my mind and its just that the rpms climb faster in 1st

It may all be in your mind, but I did the same with my last combo. I short shifted 1-2 and rode out2nd, 3rd and 4th just as you and got better results...
