i checked the pushrods, they were fine(rolled them on a sheet of glass) the springs were all in tact too, im thinking its a valve or lifter hopefully.

Sounds like it might be a lifter.

When the spring broke, do you know if the valve came in contact with the piston? If so your problems may very well extend beyond the valvetrain. Can you determine exactly where the ticking is coming from? Whenever i am trying to determine where a tick is coming from i find it helpful to listen through a broom stick or screw driver. It allows you to listen to only a certain area, and it eliminates excess noise.

the valve did not come in contact with the piston, its comming from what sounds like under the intake manifold.

Are you sure the valve didn't contact the piston? it could be slightly bent or something, I don't have sound so I can't hear what it is in your video.

If it really isn't a valve making the noise than a lifter could definantly be causing it, but it seems like there would be some play with the pushrod for the lifter in question when the lifter was on the cam base circle

If it's coming from under the intake maifold then it's most likely a lifter.

You've still got the noise? That does sound alot like mine did, but obviously not the same problem. Check your rockers. My bro's gp was making a noise kinda like that and one of his rockers was hitting the valve cover. Look at the inside of the cover and see if there are any knicks or scrapes.

yeah the noise is still there and the car runs like ****.
oh well its winter time... time for some stuff to put on it.... i have to take the upper half apart anyway... i checked the valve cover and all the rockers are tight and no scrapes. so im thinking its a lifter noise.

Process of elimination my man. Either has to be a valve or lifter. That broken spring probably didn't do you any favors either.
