Was this boosted?

JRP, I've been following for a while... I can't wait to see your results

Maybe when I can afford good heads later I can get a "Gigantor" named after me, too

Having a more aggressive exhaust lobe goes against the convention of most top builders. Snapping the exhaust valve off the seat quicker doesn't do much for power. A slower lobe usually works better on the exhaust side.

This is of course assuming the more aggressive lift on the exhaust side is in fact a more aggressive lobe.

Maybe he is doing that to account for the reverse split.

Looking forward to seeing the results.

I'm 100% positive JRP's cam isn't an XE or XER lobe, that's not custom I'd make a wager to say the intake lobe falls somewhere in between XE and XE-R though.

Most of this goes back to the "camshaft discussion" thread that was going a while back. Persoanlly, I don't believe the cam is "reverse" split. Lots of vendors make a softer/high lift lobe. I bet the advertised numbers look more like a conventional camshaft with anywhere from 0-4 degrees of foward split.

actually its all of the above; almost symetrical, traditional, and reverse depending on what point of duration you look at.

i dont believe i stated the application yet, its open track and road racing. edd chose lobes that are not like the lobes used on "drag" racing cams. spring life and valve weight were also factors that went into it.

ed told me himself this is not a traditionaly designed ls1 cam.
