Default dumb rocker arm question??????

I am a 3 month owner of my 98 T/A and my motor just spun a bearing. Im trying to get the rocker arms off but they seem to be extremely tight and I dont want to break anything trying to get them off. They have an 8mm head on them but Im not sure if there is something I am doing wrong or are they supposed to be that tight??????

8mm socket and a small breaker bar.

They have loctite on them, they'll come off real easy once you break them loose.

Don't go crazy on them, but an extended ratchet and a little more torque will get them lose.

I finally got them loose except for the rear pass side. I think the head is starting to strip.

Any suggestions for that?

Also, is it easier to pull the motor with the heads on or off?
If I leave the heads on I could just leave that rocker on and wait until the motor is out to get the bolt loose.

For you guys with an A4 that have pulled your motor out, did you leave the trans in the car or pull it with the motor? This is no picnic like my old '94 GT!!!!! 6 hrs and I dont even have the heads off yet!!!!!!!!!

the motor will come out the top with trans attatched.. i pulled mine with heads on,crank pulley on,trans attatched..just take off the intake and yoll be good.. i stripped one of my rocker arm bolts..i ended up helicoiling one whole head, did one might as well do the rest.. obtw you will have to pull that sucker out at a crazy angle..it will almost be vertical..i had like 4 links of chain in the front and like 15 in the back..i was hanging off the tailshaft while my buddy ran the picker..

Redbandit98: Did you pull everything off of the front of the motor also (i.e. water pump, and pullies)? How hard will it be to just pull the motor and still be able to put the motor back lined up with the trans?
