With a professional tuner, I think he could make it work with his M6.

Back to the subject, if your going to take the time to remove the cam, you should step up a little. I would reccomend a 244/248 XE-R on a 112 if you plan on spraying sometime, 110 LSA if you don't. It also has alot to do with what kind of heads you have. If your car is lacking on the exaust side of things, which is what it sounds like to me, your car will not perform well with a single plane (242/242) cam. Spliting the duration will help by holding the exaust valve open a little longer and letting more of the air escape from the combustion chamber.

Idle is all overlap and you can make the duration larger or make the LSA tighter and either one will get more overlap.....
Now sure making the exhaust larger will give you more "idle" because you will be opening the valve while fuel is still burning and it will burn on the way out the ports/headers. This sounds "cool" but it also makes the engine less efficient. It will also make the engine run hotter because that burning fuel will burn against the back side of the valve and super heat it. Then when it closes on the seat it dumps that heat into the head (which is also being super heated by fuel burning in the exhaust port).

ERRHH?????
the 224 is rather mild (to a point) could amost hide at 900rpm. ain't no way your going to tell me these are going to idle even close to each other!
