What are the symptoms of a bad pickup tube o-ring?
My oil pressure at idle is 25 psi and it seems to get stuck around 35 psi even if I take it to 3500 rpms. I was thinking that my o-ring might not be sealing properly.

Try switching out ur sending unit, i did this and had the same symptoms as you do and changed it out, and immediately got back to over 40psi at idle...
