Is there a problem with using a normal spring tool? or using a normal spring tool break the bolts on the heads or whatever? Should I only use one specific tool for the LS1's cam swap??? Plz help... doing the swap tomorrow.

I would stay away from the lever style tools.. They apply alot of pressure to the bolt.

The best tool by far is the Crane tool. Does to springs at a time.. The tool is simply awesome..

I used the Larry tool. It's just a piece of metal with a hole through, but it gets the job done.

I agree. Sure, it costs a little more than other spring tools, but if you're gonna be doing more than 1 spring change over the life of the car then it's well worth the investment.
