Default ZL-402.. HP gainss??

Just wondering what kind of HP gains I would expect from the 402 block compaired to a 346 LS1 block. with stock heads and cam.

I really cant answer this but I will say that if you are going to spend the money on a 402 block I would spend the little extra and atleast do heads and cam. I think you probably wouldnt even break 400 rwhp with the stock heads and cam.

OT sorry, but necrocannibal, you still running 918 springs with that cam? Might not be a good idea with the lift you have, especially using N2O.

I am interested to see any results from ZL 402, if only it were aluminum block!

Yeah they guy that built the motor works at Comp Cams. He swears up and down that the 918s are good to 650 lift and that they use them in Comps own personal drag car that runs in the .640 lift area and that they do not and have not ever had any issues with it.

When you go stroker, max HP is not what you look at.
You look at the huge improvement in low end trq (acceleration) and the powerband range distribution.

The ZL-402 just had a write up in the December issue of Car Craft. With ported LS6 heads, FAST intake and 90mm TB, they pulled 580hp/550tq on an engine dyno. CR was 11.2:1 with 28 degrees of timing.
