Default 6.0L in F-body question??

Is the 6.0L truck block aluminum? why doesnt everyone put them in f-body's?? I've seen them go for like $500!! Does anything special have to be done to swap shortblocks??

nope, they are iron. thats usually why people use them for 427's, they will hold a lil more stress.

Yep, iron. If I ever blow my engine, I'm throwing in a 6.0 short block. Should cost a lot less. I'll just pull the AC or something to make up for the extra weight, LOL!

aww man!! I wish they were aluminum. I guess you could eliminate a few things, and relocate the batt to make up for the weight. any difference (cast or forged) in pistons rods, and crank?

Does a used 6.0 shortblock really go for $500?

What about a longblock?
