Default what kind of gain should I expect

Replacing my stock ls1 cam for a stock ls6 cam. Has anyone out there done this and if so what kind of increase did you see?

Do a quick search for "LS6 cam" and you'll see a lot of info on it. To sum it up, the LS6 cam will drive like the LS1 cam up until about 4K RPMs if I recall correctly, then it will pull harder. Most people will also recommend going to a larger cam if you are taking the time and going to the trouble to swap your cam (which will cost more $$$ up front, but give you the bigger gains that you might eventually want).

search.....is your.....friend. Meent nailed it tho...unless you're having the cam replaced for free, upgrade to something a little bigger the first time around. There are bigger cams that still don't require tuning.

I really want to go bigger but I got a good deal on the cam and want to keep this car kind of tame and reliable since it's my daily driver. I will have opertunities for bigger cam when i get a project car. Thanks for your info. I've seen the specs dor the cam but was just wondering what to expect on the dyno. I aslo plan to go to the ls6 intake, port my TB, and get a tune all at the same time. Hoping to get a good +30 rwhp out of all of it.

With what you have mentioned, you should see at least 30+ RWHP out of the entire package, and it sounds like it will fit your bill quite nicely. I won't touch the engine internals on my car since it is my daily driver (and only car)...I just need reliability.

Good luck with it!

You won't get the 30hp without exhaust mods first. If you've already got 'em you'll still be lucky if you get 30rwhp.

I have a Borla cat back with a cut out. I figure 10-15 from the intake, maybe 0-5 from the TB, plus whatever the cam and tune does for me. But you never know till you have it all done. It may be less than 30 but that's what I'm shooting for.
