Get the pulley started before you tighten the timing cover so the seal is perfectly centered around the pulley. Any misalignment will cause the seal to leak.

Glad to hear everything is better. When my cam went in one of my rockers loosend itself up and clanked loudly too. We got he valve cover pulled and everything was perfect ever since. 6,000 miles later no problems.

GM uses bolts on the rockers and crank that have the flat washers built into them. Did you put locktite under those washer before installation? Apparently not. Still it seems pretty hard to believe that ALL 16 of your rockers bolts loosened themselves up after just a few minutes, especially after all of them were OVERTIGHTENED. Are we to conclude that if you had actually torqued them properly they would NOT have loosened up? I don't think so. You got lucky this time since your motor is running so good after you heard a loud BANG on the restart which is never a good thing. Most people aren't so lucky.
