Default Average $ for upgrade...

Got a 382 all bore motor and looking to toss a crank in there. What's the average cost to toss in a stroker kit? Looking to run a big shot on the car through a TH400. Just looking to get some ideas if this is feasible or not.

Aren't you going to need new rods and pistons? Your 388 is using the stock stroke and rods. Are the pistons going to have the correct compression height? Is a 6.1" (stock) rod going to work? I'm no expert (far from it), but if nothing else, your compression is going to increase substantially.

oh yeah, i know i'm gonna need a whole new rotating assembly, the only thing i may be able to keep is my rods. i was just mainly looking at the machining costs that were involved and seeing what others had done, if any others had gone this route

Well Chris, I had my Lunati 383 done at Westech in Silver Lake. He wanted about $1700 for the shortblock work but did it for $1200. That included clean, hone, line bore, deck, assembly, R&R Cam bearings, check balance, and cleaning my heads. Pricey still compared to some others but I wanted to go somewhere that had LS1 experience.
