What to do with junk block???(Pics of blown motor)
What to do with junk block???(Pics of blown motor) Alright, well the sleeve of one of the cylinders is cracked bigtime. also, the bottom half of the piston/rod is lodged up against the block and i'm pretty sure it's crap too. So what do you guys do with the crappy blocks? Also, I think there is a huge gash on one of the journals of the crank. So obviously depending on how bad it is, if it's crap, what have you done with that? Thanks

Mine let go at 6k <img border="0" alt="[bang head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" /> , and about threw the rod throug the block. I should have taken pictures of the block when I had it. But ya, mine broke a rod bolt, then broke the second rod. Didnt sound too good either. I can take pics of the 2 pistons I took out, and look like yours. Then I had the fun part of swappin motors. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[burn out]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_burnout.gif" />

or you could try to remove the sleeves yourself and take the block to an aluminum recycling place- probably get $50 or so for it.
