Default oil?

My oil was changed about 500 miles ago and all of the sudden now my "low oil" light comes on and stays on for about 1 minute after engine start, then goes out. I checked fluid level and it is good, I added a quart just in case. What could cause this?

first, never add a quart, if its full... 2nd i'd go with the change engine oil light. and if its not that, then maybe your not getting proper oil pressure.... those are my thoughts

I seconded thsi! Never add too much oil. It better to be a little low than to have too much! In fact I rather be a quart low, than have a quart too much in.

It's perfectly safe to overfill an LS1 by one quart, it's been proven here numerous times.
