No worry about testing. We have had the pump on testing machine for quiet some time on have had them on cars for a while. This is a tested part before its released.

We are double checking the double roller set ups. I dont see a problem because we can just change the program and make room.

As for the price. This project took close to a year to make. Its not easy to reverse engineer a factory piece and make it better then the OEM one. Many hours of development.

We made the cover and pump as a package. I never thought i would never get requests for just the cover with all the oiling issues i see people having. So here is the price for the cover alone.

Quick Cam Cover (no pump)-$425.00
Can the new pump be used without the trick cover? I do not really need the cover, but swatting all of the oil issues people have had with this killer new pump would rock!
Great looking parts .

Its very tight with the factory pump and we have not tested it that way. So we dont know what issue might pop up.

i would say it will work, people put 1/8 spacers on the pump to use a double-roller and your timing cover doesnt have a thick stock gasket. now i havent tried it but i'm willing to bet it will fit

thats a really nice package, now if i just had a job again i could buy some mods that would warrant such a nice pump/cover.....

It still IS too bad the price came in so high, but like they say, you gotta pay to play. I understand the prices incurred with reverse engineering in terms of manpower hours.......Army used to have me do it all the time for cheap hahahaha.

First off, fantastic looking product. I understand that reverse engineering and tooling is expensive, but if the end product is really good then it will pay for that over time. For God's sake $600.

It seems that every new product that comes to market is extremely over priced. I mean damn, we're already paying over $1000 for a good set of coated long tubes w/ Y pipe and the end all be all intake to the tune of $800 plus. Where does it all end? When is the aftermarket going to stop gouging the consumer?

I know the whole gotta pay to play thing applies and you get what you pay for as well. I am not disputing this. I'm just saying that it seems to be a little out of control.

Again, it is a nice looking product. Just a lot more than I would have expected.

99Zeod.....don't disagree with you one bit

As long as everyone is willing to pay exorbitant prices(myself included), they will keep charging them. Thats true for any market. Supply and demand. Sucks for us tho, lol.

You guys really need to get to reality when it comes to manufacturing. Nothing is cheap anymore. Nothing! Raw materials and labor rate go up every year. Unless its goes overseas, it cost money to produce a new part. Look at the price of new cars today. Is any new car worth the money they are selling it? The $75.00 header or the $50 intake days are long gone.

I don't remember those days??....but I wasn't necessarily implying you're gouging people for this part either. You've got a great setup well worth the price you're asking for it. Don't want you think I'm bashin ya or anything....QTP stuff is quality gear. My comment on exorbitant prices was aimed at the entire industry.

Wow. Nice piece.

I wish I had that a year ago. It would have easily paid for itself in cam swap costs.

Does anyone make an adjustable timing gear with 5 or bolts at the outer edge for the LS1?

And while I asking, how would you go about changing a cam? How much disassembly would be needed?

David
We are talking to timing companies to make us a nice adjustable gears for us.

All you have to do is pull the water pump, radiator and top cover and you have the timing chain exposed to do the cam swap.

Yes, Crane makes a really nice heavy duty double roller timing chain that adjusts with 6 bolts on the top sprocket. Part number is 144984-1, image can be seen on their site at http://www.cranecams.com/?show=newProduct&id=14 Jegs sells the chain for $170. The problem is, QTP tells me their two piece cover will not work with any double roller chain, only low tech cheezy single roller chains. I don't know why, they would not explain, they just said it would not work. If anyone has more info I would love to know. I like the QTP two piece cover but I think the durability of a double roller chain it more important than the time saved changing cams.
