Default Some questions about my 383"

What do you guys think about these cam specs for my 383". The motor is already assembeled and I wanted to see what you thought.

383" LS1
Stage 2 Lingenfelter CNC heads.
Kooks 1&7/8
LSX 78 Intake and throttle body
11.5:1 compression
All the good stuff internally and bolt on's.
240/236 608/601 on a 112.

Also, what kind of power numbers do you think I could see? This motor is going into my 02' ZO6, so m6 car.

Since you are guetting Stage 2 heads I would go with a standard split not a reverse.

I would go with Kooks 1 3/4 stepped to 1 7/8 from experience.
I have kooks 1 7/8 and probably lost some low end torque...
Why not 90mm? I would go with that if you are buying new.

I don't like the reverse split with stage 2 heads. I also think the 78MM LSx is too small for your 383. The 90MM LSx works well through the entire powerband.

My setup:

Texas Speed 383 (10.5 to 1)
TEA-AFR Heads
232/236 114LSA .575/.578 Cam (very tame w/low lift)
Kooks 1 7/8 Headers
LSX/NW 90mm/90mm
Tuning: 12.5 A/F 28 degrees of timing

489.3 RWHP/480 RWTQ

Not too shabby for low compression and a mild cam.

I think you made a verygood cam coice. Slightly larger than SLP's conservative 383 Stroker cam 234/228, .576/.571, 113 lsa, 112 cl.

thanx for the replys guys. I think I'm gonna go with what you guys reccomended on the 90mm LSX. I have already bought the 78, but it's brand new and not installed yet. I should be able to send it back and pay the difference for the 90.

Reboot - If i can get numbers similar to yours I will be a happy camper.
