Default anyone switch over to a carb'd LS1 yet??

I was reading the new issue of Engine Masters and they converted an LS1 to a single plane intake and a demon 750.. with pretty good results i might add. I'm going to be performing this conversion at the end of next spring.. just wondering if anyone else has done this?

The next thing.. that they didn't mention in the article is.. will it go back into a fbody .. ?? I would think the firewall would be in the way.. but i'm gonna do some checking... any inputs from you guys would be appreciated.

how the **** are you going to get a 6-71 roots blower to fit, short of cutting the firewall, cowl, dash, windsheld, hood, ect.....?

That said, do it that would be one of the coolest things ive ever seen.

well, the intake is very low profile (not much higher than the ls6/ls1 intake) and the demon carb.. well it would def. be time to sell the hood and get a stocker to cut up so the blower would fit height wise. I'm gonna have to do some research on measuring the firewall and windshield.. but yes i'm in agreeance that is would be sick..

yea, you would def. not have any clearance issues... I've just always wanted one on my car.. but with the EFI i was limited to procharger/turbo setup like everyone else.

so, YsoFast.. you have an LS1 under the hood of that IROC? got any pics?

I would like to switch to carb just for simplicity (race car only) but no one makes a decent standalone ignition for an LS1. You can buy a few different setups but once someone makes a fully programmable standalone plug and play ignition I may put a carb on. My cowl is already cut so plenty of room
