Hey what happens if my Piston to valve clearance isn't good? Can I just get shorter pushrods or what? Sorry to be dumb.

haha ok, Im putting cam in tomorrow. What should I do to check p to v clearance. I was going to do the turn over test and see if anything hits, but now Im worried I'm reading about it could push down a little further "Valve float" and break my piston???

I don't think you'll have to worry about valve float, dont' get me wrong that is a pretty big cam, just not huge. With some good springs/titanium retains and such you shouldn't have a problem.

What kind of springs do you have? Turn it over by hand first on the crank bolt then turn it over with the coil packs unhooked you will be fine.

Naw, if it has a couple degrees of advance, it should peak at about 6600 rpm.

I ran a 230/224 on 111 (with 0 advance) in my 99 and I was shifting @ 6850. You're on a 114 so that'll push the powerband even higher.

Ok, so if you peak @ 6600 you're also going to shift there? I know I wouldn't be shifting @ exactly where my car makes peak power.......

what kind of #'s you think I'll put down. Install is done. Waiting to fix a coolant leak (Gotta replace gasket) and then all should be good. I can't WAIT. Start tuning tomorrow or next day I hope.

Why are we discussing a 230/224, when the cam in question is 230/234?

Itll make nice power. how much are the heads milled, and what valve size? That will determine you PTV. I know what that intake lobe has to offer, tell me the other specs and I can tell youfrom there.

That Cam was made for the Blower you were suppose to be buying with it.It is not optimal for a NA car as it peaks way up in the power range. The idle is lopey and you should check P/V since the heads you are running are questionable on the milling.I'm pretty sure that Cam has XER lobes and I had it cut kind of wierd.
