When does it get to the point where you have more head flow than your motor can handle?? Example I have your standard bore/stroke ls1 and using
a t.r. 224/112 cam,ls6 intake, 1 3/4 headers. What flow numbers wolud be 'optimal' for this combo.? And to stretch the limit, what would be the
outcome if I had put these heads on (225s), assume this is over kill???? What is the determining factor on getting the 'proper heads???

Cylinder head flow for max effort engines of any size is dependant of port velocity and engine effecientcy. If you have a cylinder heads that can flow 360 @ 28" and have an engine that is sized and cammed to only need 260 it will still make good power as long as the port can flow are effectively at that amount of engine pull.

So using the theoretical combo listed above what would be the perfect head???

just run less intake duration if your head outflows whats needed. there is no thing as too good a cylinder head. Too much yes, but never too good. Maybe on low lift exhaust flow.

Hey guys, when I bought my PP"s LS6 heads stage 2 I felt it was great for the money and I am wondering if it would be worth it to pull em just to hand finish them? I assume thats a NO. Just wondering. The car was like night and day with them.
