I think will will probably only pic up about 10rwhp or so. If you are going bigger I would go bigger.

Why the change?

I do have a good cam for sale if you are interested. 232/236 .595/.601 on 114+4 LSA

It's the RPM4 custom grind. On a 98 TA with just bolt ons and LS1 intake. The car picked up 45rwhp and 25 rwtq. The car also had a bad tranny.

I am "considering" stepping up.
My car is driven daily & a buddy of mine was going to give me a pretty good deal. 10 HP?

I don't think it's quite worth the trouble.

I may go ahead and buy it & hold on to it til i do the LS6 Stage 2 heads.

Surely that would net me some power......

thanks, for the replies.

from what i have learned recently is increased compression doesnt add as much as you would think it would. What more compression gives you is the abillity to put a bigger more aggresive cam in. So i think what they are trying to say is if you step up, step up to even a bigger cam then what your looking at
-hope that helps

I guess the 228 is not considered very big anymore huh?
As i said. My car is driven daily.

Don't want to lose the daily drivability. You know?
Thanks again.
